Desoto publishes new novel "The Gates of Trevalyan” weaves the fictional family of Charles and Jenny King on Trevalyan Plantation near picturesque Madison, Ga. into a tapestry featuring the most compelling figures of the time from charismatic statesman Alexander Stephens to Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, and many more. The epic novel brings the turbulent years before, during and after the Civil War to vivid and passionate life. New York Times best selling author, Deborah Smith says, “The Gates of Trevalyan" is a must read for fans of Eugenia Price.” The novel was launched in a surprise, even to the author, when she spoke at the Richland County Public Library’s Annual Friends Meeting on Sept. 14. Advance copies were delightedly received by the large crowd. Cook will autograph “Sunrise” and “The Gates of Trevalyan" with a group of 40 authors at the Moonlight and Magnolias Writers Conference in Atlanta, Oct. 3. The next day, she will meet with librarians and booksellers to discuss her work. The author will be a guest on Phil Streetman's Noonday Show on WSST-TV Oct.17.
